Alcoa's success producing aluminum resulted in the anti-trust case. The Alcoa ad campaigns reflected this case and they cut down on ads and limited them to a single page, filled with nothing but text . The publishing of specifications within the ads ceased and instead, they pointed the audience to applicable, Alcoa made, handbooks.

As Alcoa was facing prosecution due to monopolizing aluminum ingots, they began changing the way that they present aluminum products. The "Structural Aluminum Handbook" gives an insight into this change of methodology. They continue to promote Alcoa aluminum, but they leave the fabrication and specific products out.
